The official website for the live-action film adaptation of Asumiko Nakamura‘s Double Mints boys-love manga began streaming a new promotional video on Thursday. The video introduces the story and two main characters and features comments from director Eiji Ueda. The film’s staff previously released the video to crowdfunding backers.
The website also revealed that three theaters in Japan will offer “special appreciation tickets” to screenings of the film. The tickets will come with two postcards that feature Nakamura’s special illustration (pictured below) of the two main characters and an photograph of their live-action film counterparts. The tickets will go on sale at Tokyo’s Cine Libre Ikebukuro, Osaka’s Cine Libre Umeda, and Aichi’s Century Cinema theaters on April 22.
The film will open in Japan on June 3.
The manga’s story revolves around two characters with similar names (although they spell their names using different kanji). Shunsuke Tanaka will play the cold and cruel Mitsuo Ichikawa (市川光央, left in picture below), while Yasushi Fuchikami will play the submissive Mitsuo Ichikawa (壱河光夫, right).
In addition, Kenta Suga (left in picture below) will play Tanaka’s character in scenes set during the character’s high school life, and Shunpei Kawagoishi
