Magazine launching in July celebrates 20th anniversary of original manga series

This year’s combined 21st and 22nd issue of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece franchise is getting a novel titled One Piece Novel “A”. The novel will center on Ace’s past, and will be serialized in the upcoming One Piece Magazine, a new magazine being published to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the One Piece manga.

The magazine will feature a cover as well as a poster drawn by Oda. The magazine will also feature a bonus extra of Luffy’s wanted poster.

The first three issues of the magazine will go on sale in July, August, and September, respectively. The magazine staff are currently accepting fan submissions for various features for the magazine, including: Usopp Gallery Kaizokudan (fan art corner); questions for a Q&A session for the manga’s editors; photos of fans’ One Piece-decorated rooms, merchandise collections, decorated cars, or smartphones; and One Piece-related haiku poems. The first round of entries ended on March 31, and the second round ends on May 31.

Oda launched One Piece in 1997, and the manga has been published in more than 30 countries.
