Strategy RPG with Studio Khara animation shipped Friday in N. America, Europe

Nintendo began streaming two videos for its Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia game on Friday to coincide with the game’s launch. The first video previews the game’s DLC season pass, which offers all five DLC packs with additional maps and classes. The second video is a “fanfare” trailer that quotes game reviews.

The game shipped in Japan on April 20, and in North America and Europe on May 19. Nintendo will release Amiibo figures for the game’s protagonists Alm and Celica on the same day as the Western release. The game’s limited edition in North America comes with the game, an artbook, a reversible title sheet, a sound selection CD, and a set of three pins. The limited edition retails for US$59.99 or CAD$79.99.

The game features animated cut scenes by Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion), and is a remake of 1992’s Fire Emblem Gaiden, the second installment of the game franchise.
