Bassist Masayuki Nakano performed band’s final concert on Sunday

The “Front Chapter – The Final Session – Lay Your Hands on Me Special Live” concert announced on Sunday that a documentary film for the band Boom Boom Satellites has been green-lit. The concert, which was held at Tokyo’s Shinkiba Studio Coast venue, marked the end of the band’s 27 years of activity.

Masayuki Nakano (pictured bottom in image right), the band’s bassist, performed at the concert. The band’s vocalist/guitarist Michiyuki Kawashima (top in image right) passed away on October 9. The singer had been suffering from partial paralysis as an aftereffect of his fourth brain tumor relapse.

Nakano announced last June that the band’s “Lay Your Hands On Me” EP release would be their last work due to Kawashima’s condition. Nakano commented on the release and Kawashima’s condition at that time, and his comments were translated into English on the band’s official Facebook page. The EP shipped on June 22, 2016.

Kawashima had suffered his fourth brain tumor relapse in August 2015. The band had cancelled concerts in Osaka and Tokyo last November due to his worsening condition.
