Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, a series of crime fiction light novels written by Chiaki Kisaki and illustrated by Hako Ichiiro about shady characters navigating the secret criminal underworld of Fukuoka, is being adapted into a TV anime. No further detais (such as the cast, the staff, and the release date) have yet been revealed.

The original Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen novels are published in Japan by ASCII Media Works under their Media Works Bunko imprint. The story of Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen is set in the seemingly peaceful city of Fukuoka, which secretly harbors an intricate criminal underworld where all sorts of illegal activities – such as torture, revenge, and even murder – are for sale.

Against this backdrop, private detective Senji Banba investigates a disturbing urban legend: rumor has it that “a killer of killers”, an assassin who preys on other people who commit murder for hire, has set up shop in Fukuoka. As Banba digs deeper, he uncovers a dark conspiracy that threatens to shake up the underworld.
